I already have a FASO website, why do I need a Squarespace one?
If you are happy with your FASO website, then you don’t need FASO Squarespace Services. This is a service for artists who need more design flexibility than FASO sites offer or who need to use Squarespace for some other reason. The difference between the two is that FASO is easier for most artists but more limited in design customization and doesn’t support non-art features. Squarespace offers more flexibility but comes with a steeper learning curve and is more work to keep updated. We support both so that we can work with artists no matter what their website needs. The only reason you might consider Squarespace if you already have a FASO website is if you needed a second website for something besides your art.
Do I have to pay for two websites to take advantage of this offer?
Absolutely not! If you wish to have us help you create a Squarespace Website to market your art, you absolutely do NOT need to also pay for a FASO Website.
Can I use my existing Squarespace website?
Yes! You can use your existing Squarespace site. This is quite simple. It requires working with us to move your Squarespace website under our master account at Squarespace to connect it to your FASO Account. After making this change, you will no longer be billed for your hosting by Squarespace and will begin to be billed by FASO at our pricing. Your site plan would also be upgraded to the Advanced Commerce plan automatically.
Will I still be able edit my Squarespace site normally?
Yes! You will still have a Squarespace login, and you will use that login to make changes to your site normally. We will also have access through our Squarespace account so that we can assist you as necessary.
What if I wish to leave FASO and take my Squarespace site with me?
No problem. You just let us know, and we make a change in our master account that releases the site back to you directly and removes us. In that instance, you would have to choose a Squarespace plan to begin being billed directly by Squarespace again. You would not lose any information or work on the site, it is simply removed from our master Squarespace account.
